Aion FREE to PLAY Februari 2012

As we know two days ago, Gameforge Europe's provider of online games, and NCsoft announced that Aion will switch into free-to-play model in February 2012 in Europe. What this means for the existing and future players? Today, Gameforge revealed details about the account model for fantasy MMO Aion.

Aion for everyone: each user, regardless of whether they are Starters or Veterans, will also receive full access to the item shop. Players are given the opportunity to pay real money to create their own individual character by purchasing, for example, unique pieces of clothing, rare pets or a new hairstyle. In addition, there is the Gold Pack option, which removes all the account's functional restrictions and grants additional bonuses to the player for a limited time, which can increase the amount of experience points gained or reduce the cooldown time after instance completion.

Beginners: new players, called Starters, can simply start playing and will get free access to Aion's entire game content right away. This includes, for example, races, classes, instances, equipment items, player versus player content and handcrafting jobs. The only limitations starters will have is reduced access to functions such as the chat and the auction house. These measures have been introduced to prevent the use of automated programmes (BOTs) and trading with real money.

Aion Patch 2.7 Live 19 October !

Are you ready to face the Arena? Starting October 19 daring Daevas can enter the new PvP Crucible Arenas and acquire new Tier 2 conditioning weapons and armors. If PvP is not your thing, 2.7 also adds a large-scale, 48-person instanced boss fight in Padmarashka's Cave for those seeking an epic boss encounter.

If you'd like to try out the new content, we will update the player test server (PTS) to Aion^® 2.7 on October 13. For more information on the upcoming patch, please check out the 2.7 Patch Notes.
From September 22 to October 1, we will also hold an Account Reactivation event in which all inactive accounts in good standing on or before September 14, 2011, will be reactivated to allow players to take part in the Two-Year Anniversary Celebration.
